HDPE Pipe (High-Density Polyethylene)

Steel Mesh Skeleton Pipe

Steel mesh skeleton pipe, also known as reinforced thermoplastic pipe (RTP), is a type of pipe that features an inner thermoplastic liner reinforced with a high-strength steel mesh. The steel mesh provides structural integrity and improves the pipe’s resistance to external loads and pressures. Usually, the thermoplastic liner is made of materials like polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP).

Advantages of Steel Mesh Skeleton Pipe:

HDPE Pipe Vs Steel Mesh Skeleton Pipe

1. Manufacturing process

HDPE pipes are produced from PE100 raw materials and extruded through an extruder. The steel mesh skeleton pipe uses high-performance HDPE modified bonding resin to tightly connect the steel mesh skeleton with the inner and outer layers of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Compared with HDPE pipe, it has higher strength and better flexibility.

2. Construction technology

HDPE pipes can be connected in two ways: thermal fusion and electric fusion.

The pipe fittings used in the steel mesh skeleton pipe are polyethylene electrofusion pipe fittings. When connecting, mainly use equipment electrofusion connection, and the steel wire of the cut section should be sealed with HDPE material to avoid exposure to oxidation and corrosion.
